Write · revise · resubmit

The LaTeX editor built for the revision round.

Write with your co-authors in real time, run the submission checks before you send, and keep the submitted version exactly as it went. When the decision arrives, every reviewer comment is quoted in a drafted response letter, and the marked manuscript is one click away.

No card required. Import an existing project as a .zip, and export the complete project at any time, on every plan.

The Manulyx editor: the project's files grouped by stage, with the initial submission kept read-only and Revision 1 open; the LaTeX source with a co-author's tracked deletion and insertion and a commented passage; and the compiled PDF beside it.

A paper in its first revision: the submitted version kept as it was sent, a co-author’s tracked changes and a comment in the source, and the compiled PDF beside it.

Every stage of the paper, in one project

Draft, submitted, revision, final files, published. When you submit, that version is kept read-only exactly as it was sent, and the next stage opens from it.

  • Standard submission checks before the manuscript goes anywhere.
  • Record the editor's decision from the email, a PDF or a Word report.

Every reviewer comment, answered in a drafted letter

When a revision is requested, Manulyx reads the decision letter and writes the response letter for you to complete: each comment quoted in the reviewer’s own words and labelled the way editors cite them, AE.1 or R1.3.

  • Response and changes under each comment, marked [to be written] until you write them.
  • An ordinary .tex file: edit, reorder or restructure it freely.

Co-authors, with every change on the record

Write together in real time. Tracked changes show who changed what, to accept or reject one at a time or all at once, and comments stay on the passage they are about.

The Review panel beside the source: a co-author's deletion and insertion, each with accept and reject, and the changed text marked in the editor.

The marked manuscript, from the stage menu

The revision compiled against the submitted version, deletions struck through in red and insertions underlined in blue, across every .tex file, chapters included. The highlighted manuscript, as many journals ask for it, is one more click.

Start from the journal's own template

Publishers’ and universities’ templates, each compiled before it is offered, so a project made from one produces the same output as the publisher’s.

Works with the tools researchers already use

Connect your reference manager, your repository and your AI assistant to a project. Each connection is made by you, uses only what you allow, and can be disconnected at any time.

AI on your terms

  • Off until you turn it on. No text goes to an AI service unless you switch on the built-in writing assistant, or add an outside assistant to your account and approve it on a Manulyx page.
  • Every AI edit is on the record. Changes arrive as tracked changes labelled with the assistant’s name, for you and your co-authors to accept or reject, and stay in the project’s history.
  • Switches for you, your project and your institution. Turn an assistant off for a single project; project owners can turn outside assistants off for a paper; institutions can turn them off for all their members while keeping the built-in writing assistant for grammar and wording, or turn both off.

The revision workflow is on the free plan

Decision letters, the drafted response letter and the marked manuscript are all included on Free, with no trial period and no card required. Free includes one collaborator per project; the Author plan removes that limit for $129 a year.
